Getting Married in Vegas – Las Vegas Photographers

Las Vegas Wedding Photographers

TI WeddingsMost of the packages in both the Las Vegas Wedding Chapels and the Las Vegas Resort Chapels will include a photographer and some prints, some will give you a CD of digital photographs and others the film. If you wish to have additional professional photographs taken you can either arrange this with the Chapel or you can hire a photographer. The prices vary greatly but the least that you should expect to pay is around $1000. Here is a list of photographers in the Las Vegas area, most if not all offer a wedding service. Please be aware that unless otherwise stated we have no experience of these photographers nor of the quality or professionalism of either them or of their services. If you want your friends and family to take the photographs then this book will teach you “how to photograph a wedding”. It is intended to be bought by people setting up as professional wedding photographers and will show you all the tricks to take great wedding photos, it even comes with a 100% money back guarantee if you are not totally satisfied.

Getting Married in Vegas – Las Vegas Wedding Chapels

Las Vegas Wedding Chapels

This is the classic Las Vegas wedding and what most people will think of when you tell them you are marrying in Las Vegas. These chapels are used solely for weddings and renewal of vows not for your usual Sunday service. There are wedding chapels at both ends of the strip but the majority are at the North end of the strip, I would Vegas wedding chapellike to say that they come in all shapes and sizes but most of them look like a small version of a classic church. These are the places where you can have al sorts of theme weddings really anything goes from Star Trek and Star Wars, to Wild West Weddings even to gothic vampire weddings ! You can be married by Elvis, Count Dracula and even King Arthur. You can of course (and most people do) have a traditional wedding with the Bride wearing a wedding dress and the Groom a suit. each chapel will have a variety of packages with the basic ones which can start from as little as $100, yes one hundred dollars but be warned though that the basic packages often do not allow you to bring guests. For around $500 you should expect music of your choice, flowers, a limo to collect the bride from her hotel, a photographer and some sort of souvenir the quality of which varies greatly. Most also offer a web streaming facility usually for an extra charge. Just like the quality of he chapels themselves the quality and the prices of the packages vary greatly. Unlike the Resort wedding chapels you may not have an area other than outside to wait before the ceremony and you may have to walk down the aisle together! Some of the chapels do not allow you take your own photos or videos.

Its worth noting that you need to add $55 for the wedding licence a $50 tip for the minister as well as a tip for the limo driver, if the Chapel provided a limo to collect the Bride.

La Vegas Wedding Chapels have played host to many a celebrity wedding including Judy Garland, Jon Bon Jovi, Richard Gere, Andre Agassi and Steffi Graff, Clint Eastwood, Mickey Rooney, Betty Grable, to name but a few.

The Chapel of the Flowers is a good example of a Las Vegas wedding Chapel and has very good website full of information and photos. Its certainly worth a visit.

Getting Married in Vegas – Outside Wedding Venues

Other “Las Vegas” Wedding Venues

You can get married anywhere in Las Vegas ! You can hire a limo with the minister and the limo can stop outside the Bellagio fountains or the”Welcome to Las Vegas” sign the possibilities are endless. You can even get married in a helicopter whilst flying over the Las Vegas Strip. Outside of Las Vegas there are five famous beautiful natural areas where many people choose to get married, Lake Las Vegas , the Grand Canyon , Red Rock Canyon, Valley of Fire and Mount Charleston . Lake Las Vegas and Mount Charleston have hotels that offer anything from simple services to full wedding packages including receptions, at Lake Las Vegas you can even get married on a luxury yacht!

Lake Las Vegas Lake Las Vegas is 17 miles from the Strip but could be a world away. It’s a beautiful lake in the middle of the desert with a Tuscan styled village on its shores, golf greens to the waters edge and mountains in the background it is truly stunning. Lake Las Vegas plays host to a range of high class hotels, vacation homes, shops and restaurants and whilst it is beautiful there is a beautiful price tag attached. The Montelago Village offers wedding packages starting at $2700 for up to 20 guests these prices rise quickly and sharply. The other major resorts at Lake Las Vegas also offer wedding packages these are the super deluxe Ritz Carlton and Lowes Lake Las Vegas Resort

Red Rock Canyon 17 Miles west of the strip lies the beautiful Red Rock Canyon a beautiful National Park that looks like no other place I have ever seen on earth. Most of the chapels do packages to get married in Red Rock canyon generally starting at round around the $800 mark. You need a park permit needed to get married in Red Rock Canyon, this costs $180 and is usually included in the package costs but it would be wise to check. Its usually about 3 hours form when you leave your hotel to when you return if you go by limo and unless you hire a second limo you can generally only take 6 guests. Its worth remembering that the ceremony will be held outside in a beautiful setting but also remember that means no air con and no lights, its best to get married at sunrise or sunset. Remember that you will have been sitting for some time in the limo to get there which may mean you clothes get creased and your makeup and hair will have been done back at the hotel.

The Grand Canyon, anyone who has been to the Grand Canyon will not be able to explain well enough its GrandCanyonbeauty, awe and magic. It really is a place that you have to see to believe and when you do you will wonder if the other 6 of the 7 wonders of the World are as good as this. The majority of people who go to see The Grand Canyon go to the South Rim where there are a number of hotels and some of the best views across the canyon, this is a good four hour drive out of Vegas. If you are getting married in the Grand Canyon chances are that you will be flown out there in a helicopter the flight is wonderful but think about this when you are choosing what to wear as helicopters do not give you much room. Usually you will land in the canyon for your ceremony like Red Rock remember no air con and no toilets! You are also very limited in the number of guests that you can bring and you usually can’t hire a second helicopter to bring more people down. Most of the Chapels offer wedding ceremonies in the Grand Canyon and they tend start at around $2500.

Getting Married in Las Vegas – Florists

Las Vegas Florists

The Chapel that you will be getting married in will Should include at least a bouquet for the bride, the Chapel will also be able to offer you some choice of flowers, many incorporate a florist If you want to be truly original then you need to get an external florist. The florist can create almost anything you want in any colour using any flowers and they are about 60% cheaper than in the UK ! We have created the list below but unfortunately do not have any experience of using any of them. We would be grateful to anyone who used any of these to give any recommendations or warnings or if they could recommend anyone not on the list.

I was going to put the list here but its longs so click here for the page

Getting Married in Vegas – Casino Wedding Chapels

Las Vegas Casino Resort Wedding Chapels

Almost all of the resorts have an on site wedding chapel an offer a wide selection of wedding packages to suit all tastes and most pockets. The packages at the resorts are usually slightly more Bellagio wedding chapelexpensive than than the traditional Vegas wedding chapel but they tend to be more elegant and offer a higher level of quality and of service and give a real feeling of grandeur. All resorts will offer packages that should include everything that you need from flowers and photographers to music and dressing rooms, most will be able to offer live web streaming of your ceremony so people at home can watch on the internet. I think that the single biggest advantage of getting married in a resort chapel is that you and your guests will be waiting in a luxurious air conditioned environment rather than possibly having to wait outside. If you stay at the resort you are getting married in you can get ready in your own room and walk down when you are ready, if you choose to have your reception inWaiting room at Luxor's chapel the same resort then other than for any photographs that you may want you can stay in side the resort the whole day keeping nice and cool. You also remove the need to hire limos to transport you and your guests from the chapel to the reception. Although you could have your ceremony and reception in one resort there is nothing to stop you having the ceremony in one resort and the reception in another, the advantage with this is again if you are moving from one resort to another whilst waiting for your transport you are doing so in an air-conditioned environment.

Bellagio” Wedding Venue

Magical BellagioBellagio is the luxury flagship resort of the MGM Mirage Group. Its themed as an Italian village aside a beautiful lake it has won 5 Diamond stars and is without doubt one of the most luxurious resorts in Las Vegas. Bellagio boasts two wedding chapels the East Chapel for small intimate affairs for up to 30 guests and the South Chapel that can hold over 130. If you want pure luxury for your wedding day then you need to take a look at Bellagio, click on the picture and it will take you to the wedding section of their web site.

My Review – The Las Vegas Hilton

Las Vegas Hilton

3000 Paradise Road
Las Vegas,
NV 89109
+1 (702) 732 5111
www.lv-hilton.com

Location It lies about ½ a mile East of the Strip behind the Wynn golf course. Contrary to what many brochures say it is not a short stroll to the Strip, you need a car – particularly at night. This Casino is designed for car drivers, the idea is that once you are here there is everything you need on site and you don’t actually need to leave for anything.

Theme It has a “space quest” theme loosely based on Star Trek. The stage show of which is the main headliner here drawing “trekkies” from all parts of the World in to see. There are two casino’s housed at the Las Vegas Hilton, the smaller low roller “Space Quest” casino which gives you the feeling of gambling within a space ship. The main and much larger casino does not really have a theme although it does have a sort of Wild West bit with barrels as stools near the back before you enter the massive sportsbook. This casino plays host to many business travellers due the location of the Convention centre next door so you are not going to experience pirates or fire breathing dragons here. Though the staff do wear shiny silver “space” uniforms!!! This is the place where Elvis made his comeback, they had the opportunity to use this for so many themes and yet they choose to use someone else’s legend this seems like a real waste.

Attractions There is a brass statue of Elvis as you enter the casino that represents the 837 sell out dates he performed there from 1969 up until his death in 1977. The Star Trek experience attracts thousands of visitors every year, making it one of the most popular shows in Las Vegas.

Pool Its a nice pool you could be forgiven for thinking that you are in Califonia like everything else here its nice but not over the top.

Shows and Entertainment Barry Manilow is the headline act here after 247 years of performing he is still selling out every night. I would love to see Barry in fact we were meant to on 12/27/2007 but he cancelled never mind we will see him next time he is fantastic. The LV Hilton has been home to Menopause the musical and has the $250,000 game show spectacular that you can take part in and win prizes. The LV Hilton also plays host too many visiting headline acts.

Dining The Buffet of Champions (B$11.99 L $12.99 D$16.99 Sunday Champagne Brunch $16.99) is far better than this ridiculous name may suggest. If you are here it well worth a trip but does not warrant a special visit. There are several other restaurants to choose from including the Hilton Steak House, Margarita Grill – Mexican, Garden of the Dragon – Chinese, Andiamo – Italian as well as the compulsory 24hr coffee shop and a couple of other eating establishments. The food in the coffee shop is great and the portions big but the service we recieved in there was poor. You could stay a whole week and not have to eat the same type of food twice.

Gaming 105,500 sq ft in total housing over 1700 slots, over 60 tables and 7 roulette wheels. The smaller Space Quest casino was the one for us with lots of nickel machines, and a very fun theme as well as being almost deserted and probably the only casino on the strip where the bright light feels natural. It feels pretty cool to gamble whilst shooting through space. The main casino is a very serious affair apart from the “Wild West” barrel section mentioned above and minimums on weekdays are sometimes $5 but this does not last for the evening and definitely not weekends. This casino is aimed at the rich corporate client who is quite prepared and happy to bet a minimum of say $25 per hand. I have been told that the casino gets very busy during conventions and limits can be very high. The main casino does seem to have a shortage of nickel machines though some can be found at the rear prior to entering the sports book. The sports book has to be the best in Vegas; it’s like walking into a cinema, well worth a look even if you don’t want to bet. This casino does give you a sort of Vegas feel of how it used to be loads and loads of lights all over the machines and a sort of luxury upmarket feel. This is probably the quietest casino in Vegas – even the usual holler from the craps tables was not noticed here.

Drinks service The Not bad the drinks took their time in coming but the strength and quality of my gin and tonic seemed higher than many other freebies I got in Vegas. You do get the feeling that you would stand out if you got drunk here. It would not be pleasant experience you feel you may get a telling off similar to one you may have received at school.

Overall A nice pleasant place to gamble for those who do not like the gimmicks that seems to be part and parcel of almost every Strip casino. It is a car ride from the Strip but there is ample parking and it is well worth a visit if for no other reason to see where Elvis filled the showroom for 8 years selling every consecutive date out.

Good points It never seems to be too busy andI liked the “space quest” casino it was real fun; light and airy a refreshing change

Bad points It has to be location if this was on the Strip it could probably contend with the best of them but now if you took away the convention centre and the Star Trek exhibition it would probably be empty.

Top Tip Join the players club you usually get a 241 for the buffet here. 3000 Paradise Road

Little Chapel of the WestLas Vegas Wedding Legalities
Getting married in Las Vegas is simple and easy in a nutshell you need to go to the Clark County Marriage Bureau fill in a form and pay $55+ $7.50 for the certificate, cash is the only form of payment taken. You are then free to get married in Las Vegas. The actual legal requirements are further down this page

Obtaining Your Marriage licence

You need to go the Clark County Marriage Bureau in person and you have to go together and the bureau only takes cash ($55) and they ask for the correct amount ! The bureau is  no longer open 245/7 but open 8am until midnight 7 days a week. At public holidays and particularly Valentines day you can find yourself queuing for a long time. You also need to show your passport, driving licence or birth certificate, surprisingly enough this (at least until next year) is only to prove your age not who you are ! You need to hand over a completed marriage licence application form each which you can download the form here you should download the instructions here they will help you. The Marriage Bureau suggests you bring a copy of the instructions with you when you apply for your licence. If you are not a US citizen under the title “Social Security (E)” write “NONE” Once you have handed over the forms and the cash and proved you are at least 18 you will be given a marriage licence this is valid for one year and allows to get married in Nevada by anyone licensed to perform marriages.

Obtaining Your Marriage Certificate
When you get to your marriage venue you will need to hand over your marriage licence, your minister (or appointed licensed person) will then marry you and he or she will file this with the Marriage Bureau so that a marriage certificate can be issued. The minister does not get paid by the wedding venue he works for tips so you should give him at least $50. Many venues will arrange for a marriage certificate to be posted to you or allow you to collect it from them at a later date. You can also apply for a certified marriage certificate by writing to “Clark County Recorder, P.O. Box 551510 Las Vegas, Nevada 89155-1510” and enclosing the fee of $10.

Marriage License Requirements

Requirements for U.S. citizens and non U.S. citizens are the same.

It is suggested that non U.S. citizens check with your local officials for special documents that may be needed to ensure that your marriage will be recognized in your country.

Imperial Palace Las vegas – My review

Imperial PalaceImperial Palace

3535 Las Vegas Boulevard South
Between Sands Ave and E Flamingo Road
Las Vegas
NV 89109
+1 (702 ) 731 3311
www.Harrahs.com

Location The Imperial Palace is right in the middle of the Strip nestling between the Flamingo and Harrah’s, dead opposite Caesars. It is a great location; you are maybe 5 minutes to Mirage and Ballys and 10 at most to Planet Hollywood, Bellagio and only slightly longer to the Venetian. This is a very happening part of the strip with the casinos right up to the pavement it’s crowded and buzzing; this is Vegas baby.

Theme The hotel has an Oriental theme that starts with the Pagoda facing the Strip and an entrance of Bamboo and Jade. The theme continues with most of the female staff, many of whom appear to be oriental, dressed in a sort of Chinese style mini dress.

Attractions I did not see an amusement arcade or anything similar here but they have the Imperial Palace Auto collection. The collection is housed on a whole enclosed and separated floor of the garage car park. It is very good though not really aimed at car enthusiasts (there is enough to keep them occupied) but rather houses many cars owned by the famous. It includes one from Elvis and another by Liberace complete with candles on the wings. They also bring some of their impersanators on to the Casino floor to deal.

Pool The pool is poor, small, concrete and boring.

Legends in ConcertShows and Entertainment Ledgends in concert was the first “Tribute” show on the Strip you get to see looky likies of all sort so fo artists from Ertha Kit to Madonna, my parents enjoyde it but said that the music was too loud for them. It is a good value show and won’t break the bank. Imperial Palace has a poolside party called Imperial Luau – I have not been I have been told that this is very lucky !

Dining I have only had coffee at the Imperial Palace and that was bad. The reviews I have read on the buffet are always bad yet my parents eat there and thought it was wonderful, maybe they were lucky or maybe they had low expectations, I certainly would not make a trip there just for the buffet. If you do wish to risk it the costs are B$9.99, L$11.99 D $14.99 and Sunday Brunch is $12.99 but sadly no champagne. It’s often thrown in as part of a show deal. There is a good burger joint by the Sports book and whilst their fine dining offerings are not on par with many other resorts but the prices are adjusted to show this and value can be had particularly at Fireside which is very good value.

Gaming 75000 sq. ft About 1800 slot machines and about 35 tables and 3 roulette wheels. Minimum bet $5 per hand with $5 Craps, you can almost allways get tables at these levels. The Casino is noisy, crowded and cramped although cocktails get served to you very regularly. The staff are great, friendly and more than happy to help the inexperienced gambler particularly at Craps without making you feel stupid. There is a very good range of slots, many of the nickel machines variety. This casino is aimed at low to mid rollers.

Drinks service
The Drinks service here is was allways good wherever you sat when IP was still independently owned and you get looked after non stop. Now its owned by Harrahs this may have changed.

Overall
This is the Strip’s little secret; cheap rooms in the center of the strip. The Casino is loud andAuto Collection cramped; the rooms are large but tired and not allways the cleanest, but hey no complaints, as over all you are paying the same as you would at a Motel 6 but getting a full service resort in the heart of the Strip. Stay here whilst you still can as it may well be one of the next great casino’s to be turned to a pile of dust. If you cant get a room here try Excalibur slightly nicer for a similar price.

Good points Cheap rooms, cheap food and low limit tables

Bad points Check in is crowded and you have to walk through a busy casino to get to your room. Valet parking fills up at weekends. Smoky and corridors can be dirty.

Top Tip Go to the reward card booth and ask for fun book this will amongst other things give you free admission to the motor museum.

Best Deal at Luxor

Exclalibur from $41 per night

MGM Grand prices so low that they can not be published !
